Terms of Service
Last updated: July 27, 2026
Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and 13538087 Canada Inc., operating as Maple Juris (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using maplejuris.com or the Maple Juris API (together, the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
The Service
Maple Juris provides citation verification and related data services over Canadian legal sources through a web interface, REST API, and MCP server. We may modify, add, or discontinue features, and will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes that affect paid plans.
Accounts and API keys
You are responsible for your account credentials and for all activity under your API keys. Keep keys confidential; do not share them outside your organization. We may suspend keys that appear compromised or abusive. You must provide accurate account information and be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction.
Plans, quotas, and billing
Each plan includes a monthly request allowance; requests beyond the allowance are rejected until the next billing cycle or a plan upgrade. Non-commercial plans may be used only for personal, academic, or research purposes — any use in or for a commercial product or service requires a commercial plan. Fees are billed monthly in advance through our payment processor and are non-refundable except as required by law. We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice, effective on your next billing cycle.
Acceptable use
- No attempts to circumvent quotas, metering, authentication, or rate limits.
- No resale or redistribution of the Service or bulk data extracted from it without a written agreement with us.
- No use that violates applicable law or infringes the rights of others.
- No probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of the Service without our prior written consent.
Not legal advice
Maple Juris is a citation-verification tool, not a law firm, and does not provide legal advice. Output from the Service is provided for informational purposes and must be independently verified by a qualified legal professional before being relied upon. Use of the Service does not create a solicitor-client relationship.
Intellectual property
We retain all rights in the Service, including its software, databases, and trademarks. Underlying legislation and case law remain subject to the terms of their public sources. You retain rights to the queries you submit; you grant us a limited licence to process them to operate the Service.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Legal sources change; we do not warrant that results are current, complete, or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill.
Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or risk to the Service, with notice where practicable. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) survive.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, and the courts located in Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from them.
Changes and contact
We may update these Terms from time to time; the date above reflects the latest revision, and continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. Questions about these Terms can be sent to [email protected].
